They say a civil war has started in heaven, with a lone Seraph standing boldly against the wrath of all tradition, refusing to bow - all for the sake of freedom.
They say a man walks the earth, soulless, cold, and terrible deeds follow him like a plague. Those who meet him do not dare to scream. For if they scream, he hears them, and if he hears them, they die.
They say there are whispers in the night, creatures that no one has never seen, monsters that lurk out of sight - but never out of mind. There are treacherous things afoot, nameless fears, dreadful omens. The nightmares stir as never before, and blood runs freely through the night.
They say this will be the final blow that brings humanity to its knees. That all will fail, shatter, crumble, the last echoes of goodness and light fading to nothing. Paradise, once a promise, lost forever, as every hope we have ever known comes falling, falling down. Until only darkness remains.
That is what they say. This is the year the dark will win.
